Spending the last 20 years working in education has provided Chris with so many amazing experiences that he is privileged to share with the Eanes ISD community. From guiding climbing trips in the Blue Ridge Mountains to solving instructional technology puzzles in districts across Central Texas, he values being part of the instructional process and working with amazing students and staff!
After graduating from Texas State (or Southwest Texas, as we used to call it), he spent a few years working with nonprofits and for profits in outdoor education and service learning before making the leap to public education. He then spent nine years teaching social studies and coaching at Manor Middle School east of Austin before becoming a district Ed Tech with a specialty in secondary 1:1 device integration.
His personal life is primarily focused around a cute little boy and wonderful woman, and together they try to spend as much time outside as possible. His love of the outdoors fuels his recreational pursuits that include rugby, rock climbing, skiing, and pretty much anything that gets his adrenaline pumping.
He feels honored to be part of the Westlake family and working with such an amazing group of students and staff!
Lisa Johnson M. Ed.
Lisa has 16+ years of educational experience ranging from teaching HS English & MS Math to international curriculum development, creating and presenting workshops, and even running technology integration camps across the state. Currently, Lisa serves as an Educational Technologist for Eanes ISD which proudly supports an 1:1 iPad initiative from K-12. Additionally, she has been recognized and selected as an Apple Distinguished Educator and PBS Lead Digital Innovator for Texas.
When she isn't working, she is spending time with her hubby and two boys. In her "spare time", she loves reading nonfiction, writing, keeping tabs on the Amazon Treasure Truck, and enjoying the Austin music scene and the occasional poetry slam. This year she published her first book.
Her passion for visual literacy, instructional design, communication, and social emotional learning is clearly evident in the resources she creates and shares and the professional development she designs for staff and students.
She feels blessed to serve the WHS campus for the 5th year and to embark on a new journey... being a mom of a middle school student.
